Awesome Women of Empowerment (The A.W.E Group) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and women empowerment group geared towards mental health and wellness. We incorporate various resources to motivate, encourage, and support women and families who are living with a mental health condition. Common, yet ignored disorders ,such as depression, PTSD, and anxiety are prominent within many households and communities. As we continue to fight stigmas related to mental health, we want to influence others to end stigma related to these disorders.

Women Health: DEEP DIVE INTO MENTAL ILLNESS
"Approximately 12 million women in the U.S. experience clinical depression each year."
"About one in every eight women can experience depression in their lifetime."
"Social factors can lead to higher rates of clinical depression among women, including stress from work, family responsibilities, the roles and expectations of women and increased rates of sexual abuse and poverty."
Tynesha began her journey as a mental health advocate in 2016, with a focus on women and children who lived with depression and anxiety disorders. After personally being diagnosed with major depressive disorder, seeing many of her childhood friends and young children succumb to their illness through suicide, Tynesha felt that it was time attack the suicide crisis and stigma around mental health. Her empowerment movement began with her first published book, 'Project Me: 30 Days to a Better You', and then expanded to creating The A.W.E Group. She speaks about learning the power of "NO" and understanding the power of self care, as well as coping techniques for gaining a peaceful mind. Awesome Women of Empowerment, Inc was formed in 2017 with a mission to educate, support, and empower those who live with mental health conditions around the world.
